Mixed Feelings

In this weeks class, there is no video.

I am writing this on Saturday the 12th of May. It is the day of the British Royal Wedding. I have mixed feelings about this wedding. The meaning of "mixed feelings" is partly I agree and partly I disagree.

I like Harry as a person, he has done and is doing many good things for his country. He is a better person for the UK than most of the so-called British politicians. I hope he has a long and happy married life. I cannot say anything about his bride, because I do not know anything about her.
You may have noticed that I did not write Prince Harry, this is because I do not accept anyone as a prince, princess, king or queen. The UK is a monarchy, I would prefer it to be a republic. The people are more important than the Royal Family, in my opinion.
The Royal Family are paying for the wedding, but the security is paid for by British taxes. The cost is millions of pounds. A lot of British people are happy to pay for the security, but many others are very angry about it.
The wedding is taking place in Windsor, Elizabeth owns the castle there. The royal family sometimes live there, but they have other castles and palaces too. Many people live in Windsor: in their own houses; rented houses; private flats and rental flats. But there are homeless too! Many living on the streets. So that Windsor looks pretty for the wedding, the police have forced those homeless people out of Windsor
I like Harry and I wish him well, but I think the money being used to protect the rich and famous going to his wedding, was being spent on helping the homeless.

Please think of some questions to ask me and prepare a talk about something you have mixed feelings about.
